Talent Forum tackles UK Dairy's workforce skill challenge
The UK dairy industry is stepping up efforts to tackle its growing workforce challenges with the launch of a new group aimed at boosting skills across the £5.7bn sector.
The Talent Forum, launched on April 30 by the University of the West of Scotland (UWS), brings together leaders from across the supply chain – including representatives from AHDB, NFU, Dairy UK, Defra, and the Scottish Government.
The group will focus on closing the sector’s skills gap, improving recruitment and retention, and preparing the workforce for future needs. A recent report from dairy co-op Arla found that 86% of farmers with vacancies had trouble finding applicants with the right skills.
